We scientists run experiments to confirm/invalidate the theories that we have proposed. Sometimes come up with humorous theories that turn out to be true.
An example is the theory that every performer in a movie or is a regular on a TV show can be connected to Kevin Bacon in six steps or less. So far it looks like the theory is valid.
Sometimes to results in questions that result in research that is interesting, such as: If french fries originated in Belgium, why are the called french fries?
But this does not require research since it is already confirmed since it complies with the thread rules: I win.
