Another novel-with-prequel-novella in my stack is Dorothy Must Die, which caught my eye thanks to a physical four-chapter free sampler in a local bookstore. Naturally, it's a gritty sequel to... either the Oz books or the movie; I'm not clear on that offhand. Either way, it looks neat, but it's not jumping ahead of some good Butchery.
