Not so cheap, one has to buy a Kindle first. Also I doubt that majority of the subscribers will read more than a book a month in reality. Reading books is no popcorn time.
I personally like to own my stuff so i wont join. I would not even join if it was free. But I see that it is an option for some people.
This is a total win situation for Amazon. It will increase kindle sales, will give Amazon more control over ebook market and will force local libs to their knees.
