Just to clarify. That 'Stopped Working' is Windows supplied, not calibre.
Calibre has already gone south or is seriously (over) busy.
There may be something odd happening with Auto-add.
It polls the folder.
It claimed to ignore the not found folder on start. Did it still poll and go off to na-na land?
