I have the older AZPEN 701 model which also has the limitation of not being able to freely use the external memory for apps.


Here is a link that helped me out, by modifying the vold.fstab file which tells the OS how to mount the memory devices.
Essentially, you are swapping the internal and external memory.
After making this mod, I now have 32GB of usable storage for apps, data, music, vids or anything else.

Was not necessary to root - did require me to install ADB on my MintLinux computer.
