My wife had a kobo arc that she bought 18 months ago. A couple of weeks ago it wouldn't charge either. Some of the soldering broke where it was plugged in. We were not to upset though as the thing had a ton of usage. Instead of trying to get it fixed she just bought another one for half the price (here in Canada) than her first one. Then I went last week and bought one for myself which included a Kobo sleepcover for $110 cdn. Can't beat that deal on a pretty decent tablet. Just have to be careful when plugging in charging cord. I think there have been other tablets that have suffered from that same issue (ie Samsung Tabs)
