I'm not a Sanderson fan. I tried Elantris, and he totally put me off with his philosophizing, slow pace (no wonder he could finish Jordan), and all around boring dialogue. He doesn't write complex worlds, like GRRM does. His main quality is unique magic systems, and that really doesn't fit with ASOIAF where you have low magic fantasy world.
I will give him another try with Mistborn, but if he fails there, I wont bother anymore.

With your attitude towards everyone on this thread, you have put yourself in the position where I desperately want to yank your chain as hard as possible.
I don't really care what your opinion of Sanderson's writing is -- I happen to believe he does an excellent job at both. Elantris was his first book, so perhaps not representative of his current skill level

although even so I enjoyed it tremendously.
I happen to like both GRRM's writing (when he gets around to it) and Sanderson's, but plenty of people like Sanderson and not GRRM. Others, like you, enjoy GRRM but not Sanderson. Different strokes for different folks; there will be as many of your lot who will ditch ASOIAF if Sanderson takes over as will only start the series so they can read how Sanderson steers it. I get the best of both worlds.
No one really needs your approval except you.

I have enjoyed just about everything Sanderson wrote and the man understands the concept of writing on a regular basis.

Sanderson FTW!
I don't really want GRRM to die, of course (see above) but I do think Sanderson would do a great job. At least I know if GRRM does die, things will still turn out all right, so I'm not too concerned about what does happen.
