I have a strange problem which Amazon can't help with so I was wondering if anyone here has any ideas?
I have a 3G enabled Paperwhite which is mainly used with wifi. I tried to send a personal document using my @kindle.com email address and it was rejected. I received an email from Amazon advising me that 'We have not received a valid method of payment so we are unable to process your order for Personal Document Service (via Whispernet). Please update your payment information'. My kindle was connected to wifi at the time.
I've tried multiple customer service reps and spent over 2 hours on the phone so far and no one can explain a) what the email means or b) why the document was rejected.
When I changed my email address to free.kindle.com it arrived promptly. I've never had this issue before with the kindle.com email address over wifi.
The personal document was a mobi book purchased via an independent retailer that sends books to Kindle for me and I don't have the ability to amend the last part of my kindle address on their site so if it's the email address then I'll always have to download them to my pc first then email them, which would be a pain.
No one at Amazon can explain what I am supposed to do with the email, what settings I need to alter, or why Amazon ignored the the wifi connection on my Paperwhite. I already have the whispernet settings set for 20p which covers 1mb and the book was around 850kb, so within the parameters if the charge already authorised, although I was on wifi so whispernet shouldn't have been involved.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions as to what's going on as Amazon are at a loss.
