This is how it is for me, as well. The only time I've ever had anything delayed in any way (it was a set of sheets that was delayed by two days) I contacted Amazon and got a $5 credit to my account.

I'm sorry UPS sucks so badly in your area--I hope you call the UPS office and complain every single time...I know I would.
