Calibre profile for kobo readers

Hello...

I just have a question. I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but it is related to kobo. And I can't seem to find answers here.

When setting up Calibre, it'll ask you what kind of device you have. Of course, having a Glo, I chose the Kobo reader option. This has bothered me before, but I just have never gotten to asking about it.

In the Kobo profile in Calibre, it is only set to less than the resolution of my Glo. Does this have an effect to anything I do with my Glo? If it does have an effect, can you change the resolution in Calibre?

I'm just curious. But I never notice anything out of place in my Glo before. Anyway, thanks to whoever will answer my question!!!
