That's because Ripplinger has big-ass bad eyes!
So my crappy eyesight likes the thicker fonts, and before I had a lighted reader, the thicker fonts also let me keep reading much longer past when it starts getting darker outside.
When I did those scans, it was around 85° in here, and still very minimal ghosting. When I read outside in direct sunlight, the ghosting is more noticeable (plus those stripes that form on the page unless you refresh often).
