Do your buy now thing in a separate tab for each book you want to buy, select Paypal or credit card on each, then apply your promo code to each book, before completing the purchase. Complete each purchase one after the other, should accept them all.
I don't know the difference between old and new checkouts, though, so would need someone else to explain that. I only get one variety of checkout on Chrome or Firefox.

Omg, thanks so much for telling me! I used to prefer the old checkout system but now I think I like the new one better LOL!!
We need to have the system (the Singapore site) changed to the new one soonest possible, like now!
