No, there isn't a way to sort by date purchased on the device.

The ascending/descending sorts can be handled by the fact that the all lists wrap. If you are on the first page, then paging backwards will take you to the end of the list. And paging forwards from the last page wraps to the beginning. It might not be as convenient, but it works.
