With only 140 characters to play with, tweets are normally condensed down to what the poster thinks is of main importance. What I mentioned in my OP is exactly what I came across regarding the sale.
I like Facebook now because I only interact with real-life friends and family there (and the very few Pages I consider worth my attention). Twitter, for me, is a totally opposite experience, interaction-wise. Now I just mostly follow people (not necessarily actually '
follow'; I use private lists a lot) and favorite stuff. My timelines on both are very edifying and I almost never come across 'gunk', unless I deliberately search it out for critiquing purposes.
