What does reset/sign in do?

I haven't used wifi for ages, and having trouble getting it to work again.
Looks like I'm going to need to reset the reader. A few questions before I do.

Do you need to have wireless working to sign in?

When you sign out, I think you lose the sql DB, and all the kepubs?

With a factory reset, you loose f/w, kepubs, and epubs?

what does a 'pin' reset do? Do you lose anything? Does it sign you out?
