Midnight Eastern Standard Time is 5 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time, always. Midnight Eastern Daylight Time is 4 a.m. GMT and is the current local time nomenclature. When one wants to be pedantic and spell things out for the presumably less informed, one needs to get it right.
