There is no place to get these books legally. There is no website that can tell you for sure that there are no alterations made. Sure maybe they can say that, but you would be foolish to believe them.

I don't think you are trying to get illegal books, just that what you are looking for is not there.

Your best source is the public library if you want free books that have not been altered in a harmful way.

It could still have been altered by the guy in charge of the printing run. Remember, we're dealing with conspiracy theories here, so this is a perfectly reasonable extension of the base theme.

Since the OP is looking for free ebooks, there is no place to get them legally. Since the stores where they are legally sold will charge for them.

Although they might be offered as freebies, there is no guarantee that they will be at that price point. So even Amazon/Kobo/B&N/Apple/Google/other cannot be said to be a "website that offers free [self-help] .ePub files for download".
