You know what that tells me? He doesn't know how to get to the ending himself which gives him the leeway to keep writing whatever he feels like.

Wheel of Time got to be a bit silly. I was lucky and started it when Sanderson wrote his first book. There was a ton that could have been cut out but there was a clear ending to the story. GRRM pretty much confirmed what I had long suspected, he doesn't know where this is going except in vague terms.

Give me a JMS (Babylon5) or a Wheel of Time where the thing is outline to death and it is clear that the authors knew where the story was going. There where developed character arcs, plot lines and a larger story arc.
