The Christmas money is why the Christmas season extends into Jan. In my experience it actually extends pretty well into Feb. Not until March/April do things start to taper. May can go either way, but by June, the summer slowdown begins. I see it with the associate referrals and blog traffic as well. One of the bloggers I used to follow took all of August off every year because by August traffic was so slow, she didn't feel like talking to empty airwaves.

I've taken out ads in various months and when it comes to bang for buck, you kind of waste some of your money most summer months (the one exception is generally a new book announcement).
