I've not used txt on my Cybook -- unlike you I have a PC, so I can easily convert txt to either PDF(*) or mobi. If I get a chance I'll try some Gutenberg txt's tonight. I wouldn't expect any problems, though.

As for the txt's, depending on what they are and where they come from, there may be a lot of them available in other formats. For instance have a click on the "E-Books" tab on the blue bar near the top of the page, and that will take you to a wealth of content...

(*) If you don't want to change the font size, and the PDF is correctly formatted for the device, don't necessarily be put off by it -- just make sure it really is the right size.
