Yes. I really don't like the idea of $200/barrel oil, but the consequences of $60/barrel are more worrying.

I'm also very worried about the support of the Motor Industries. I have sympathy for the workers, and that the rapidity of the change in the economy has probably prevented more manageable adjustments. This support could all to easily turn into protectionism. Combined with the presented situation you can get international hostilities. And on today of all days I really don't want to be thinking about the end of the 1930's happening again.

Here's hoping he uses it to encourage a whole new family of alternative fuel cars. A sort of JFK-type far reaching grand challenge: "by 2020 we will have no car that uses oil-derived fuel".
