Interesting, but unnecessary for me.

The on-screen keyboard only appears when I am in an app where text can be entered and I select a field where text entry is possible. It's not always there, and can be minimized by a touch on a button that appears on the action line when the keyboard is active.

With the hardware keyboard attached, the virtual keyboard doesn't appear.

This appears to solve a problem on some devices where a Bluetooth keyboard is used. The Azpen tablet doesn't have Bluetooth, so a USB keyboard is required.

The behavior it displays is what I would expect. If it didn't, I'd consider the implementation broken.
