Samosa I'm wondering if the balance shows in HKD because you're currently viewing it whilst logged into the HK site?
Another way of using the gift card and ensuring that it uses the currency of your choice may be to open an account for say India, and another account for wherever else you may want to use the gift card and gift it to those individual accounts .....
