I use a separate keyboard and mouse as well. Can't live long without before irritability sets in.

Sometimes I read on my PC or laptop, although not on my lap. Non fiction I read on my laptop or desktop mainly, as I read much faster. When I lost my first ereader for a few days, I put my laptop on my nightstand and used an app that allowed me to page forward with the spacebar. Not as comfortable as reading in bed with my ereader, but for me better than paper or tablet.
