I seem to be the outlier here; I find the eink flicker to be very disconcerting. So much so that after I traded in my second generation Sony (my first ereader) for a Samsung Android tablet I’ve never looked back. My wife has a Kindle 2, and I occasionally have to help her with it, and I hate it!

My Nook HD+ recently started randomly rebooting, so I switched to my Windows 8.1 Samsung Tablet, and I’m thinking that I’ll never go back to Android either.

I don’t find the short battery life to be a problem, as I have to sleep sometime. It’s not a burden to just plug it in before bed.
