When I wash the towels/blankets, etc. my 3 cats play 'stand off' -- waiting for one of them to take the plunge and sleep on them - once they have the proper 'cat smell' then all 3 compete to mark them (again) with their own scent .... I usually solve the problem by grabbing the nearest cat and plunking them down on the 'new' towel and rub them on it . I get tired of those staring remorseful eyes accusing me of taking away their old towels.

LOL.
The biggest problem is that when Lexie has slept on a blanket/pillow for a couple of days she thinks it's dirty and doesn't want to sleep on it anymore, but when you wash it it's also not good

. Nikita was so much easier. She had just one spot in my bedroom; an old shoebox with one of my old sweaters. She hated it when it was washed (the dirtier the better for her), but it I put on the sweater for a couple of hours and it smelled like me it was good for her.
