I realize that Kobo charges a transaction fee each time when I purchase a book. Not sure how it is calculated but it looks to be proportionate. I paid for a transaction which should have costed 374 RS but turned out that 470 RS was deducted from the giftcard. Then I bought another book again and this time the book is supposed to costs 431 RS but after the transaction the balance of my giftcard actually increased!! I am losing the plot!!!

Don't get me wrong though - I love this giftcard idea as it helps me to limit my spending!
I am in Canada and purchase the gift cards locally so they are in Canadian. Because I am frequently making purchases in the US, my gift balance actually changed to American.

I use XE to check currency, and I find the rate I am charged through Kobo either matches or is better; though they have never given me money back before!
