We are really getting this thread Off-Topic, but I can't help making one more comment.
My country celebrated its official founding last week.
News reporters interviewed people in the street with the question: "how old is the country?"
A discouraging large number of people did not know.
So to find that few people know that Iran (Persia) was once the center of the largest empire known in the history of mankind up until then is not so surprising.
