@cybmole IIRC MS wasn't the first to use the term 'folder', Woz did that on Lisa. Mind you that shouldn't protect MS from scorn, they didn't have to be a late to the scene copy-cat.

Can't be certain but I have a feeling the change at MS might have coincided with them falling out of the Big Blue bed Up until Windows 3.1 at least, they were called directories, see attachment.

I loathe the word - implies they're a container, which they're not, they're a !@#$% index.
