I hope you 4th was good. I stayed in and read a book. No historicals this year I am too engrossed in my current series. No book purchases either I think. I bought stuff for the apartment instead.

I read:

Bloodfever by Karen Marie Morning (4.5)

I am reading Faefever by Karen Marie Morning

Keep in mind if you read this series to have all books ready as they end going right into the next one like one gigantic book. I can't imagine have reading this waiting for the next one to come out it would have drive me batty. Ms Morning is an expert in world building and one of the most strongest writers I have read. I compare her writing to J.K. Rowling. It's smart, witty and very strong. No simplicity here. There are some romantic elements to the series and a HUGE amount of sexual tension between the heroine and the lead male. Also like most urban fantasy it's written in first person but the author does it in a way like you would see on TV. Like she is doing a memoir of what happen It's just so amazingly brilliant with how she writes first person it's going to be hard to revert back.

This is not your typical paranormal world. If you are tired of vampires, shifters and the like give this series a try. It's different and be prepare to set time away to read them because they are hard to put down. I think this series has given me bags under my eyes from staying up too much. This is one for my keeper shelf if I ever get the money right now I am reading them through Overdrive. I do have the first one though. It was a freebie many years back.
