I love my Nexus 7, pretty much using it as an ereader, and occasionally turning on Wi-Fi for checking mail, video, or Facebook.
Comixology app looks great on it, as do my standard reading apps: NOOK, Kindle, Aldiko. If I need to do serious websurfing, I have a laptop.
Keep few games on it, so that's not much of a distraction. With Wi-Fi off and mostly using reading apps, I get pretty decent battery life.
