Worst scratches I have ever seen on a touch screen was at Home Depot. Looked as if they were using screw drivers to operate the touch screen.

To operate Kobo IR touch screen use finger or anything that will interrupt IR light beam and not damage screen. No special stylus needed. Keep edges of screen clean to prevent debris blocking IR light.
