Don't use things like your keys to turn pages, and don't drop your keys on the screen. On a used 350 I bought the screen had scratches all over it and a deep gouge in the glass like someone used it for a key tray. Yes, if you drag any metal or rough edges over the glass, you're going to get scratches. Just like on any glass surface.

Just use your finger to turn pages like you should and it'll be fine. My readers still have pristine screens, even one that's 4 years old. You can't really use a screen protector on an infrared screen without issues, just keep them in a cover and they'll remain scratch free.
