At the temps you're maintaining, $120 - $150/month sound about right for the power bill in the summer. That's why I suggested the oscillating fan - moving air feels cooler and may let you raise the thermostat settings comfortably.
Craigslist is full of weirdos - NEVER meet someone by yourself if they want to visit the storage place to view the item. NEVER have them come to your home. Always meet in a public place with other people around. You never know these days.
On that note, it's a pretty good idea NOT to open your apartment door after dark, or after 7:00 or so - unless you know who it is. You're in a fairly big city and need to protect yourself.
Good luck to hubby - the job market is a crap shoot - you just keep trying until something clicks.

Thanks I will be careful I am staying in till Fall.

Right now I keep the PTAC on 68 which kicks on at 74F and goes off on 70F. The mini AC is right below max and that keeps the bedroom at 70F because it doesn't kick on and off at temp it really can cools the room and the hallway and bring the next room down to 75F on top of two ceiling fans and a wind tunnel fan in the hallway. I only get warm when he tries to use the oven or fans the front door too much. I can use the dryer and it doesn't really warm up the place due to being in it's own room with a door. I don't think I could take any warmer. I just have too much padding on me.
Craigslist has not only weirdos but people who want stuff for practically nothing. I finally put non-negatable on the ad and that cut down on alot of non serious inquiries. The storage unit is right by the leasing office so it's a good public place and the young couple live there in that building and can hear everything that goes on so it's pretty safe. I told hubby if he feels something off just go with his gut.
I constantly tell hubby don't open that door after dark but it does no good. If he thinks he hears something he does just that no matter what time of the night it is. You just can't tell him any different. He thinks he is neighborhood watchman or something. Men! Me I don't open the door unless I know the person no matter what time of the day it is.
Hubby is really discourage right now but he has an appointment with a HR professional who is going to go over his resume and give him job interview and resume tips. This is a free service put out by a church in the area. I'm hoping it helps alot because he resume needs alot of work but he doesn't believe me.
