Do you mean the thin, even, white border on all four sides of the cover image of all books? If so there is nothing you can do about that other than downgrade to an older firmware version*.
But if you mean the thicker white border that appears on just two sides (usually left/right) of the cover image only for some sideloaded books, then the solution is to use Calibre to sideload the books and tick the "send covers" option in the KoboTouch driver configuration. Alternatively you can use the KoboUtilities plugin to replace the covers of books that are already on the device without resending the book.
Note that if you replace a cover for a book that is already on the device, then you might need to turn the device off and back on before the new covers will show up.
* Edit: I have been looking for a patch to remove these borders, so far I have found how to remove the borders on the images used for the library grid view and the home screen tiles, but not from the images used in the library list view or book details page.
