Sammie cat has 'puking storms' when she vomits hairballs - first the food (always on a full stomach), then the hair, and then she apparently has a panic attack and runs through the house, periodically pausing to vomit stomach fluid/saliva. This can go on for 30 minutes or so. I discovered that it was stress/nerves that kept her vomiting - if I can catch her and hold her on her back like a baby and rub her tummy, she calms down and stops vomiting.
Why yes, I do have several cans of Resolve carpet cleaner in the pantry.
Lexie doesn't throw up when she's stressed. She does so when she has a hairball (like tonight), when she eats too fast (like 2am this morning) or when she's upset I'm not at home (but she only does that in my room). She does retch at least a couple of times a week, but I suspect that more to get attention because when I start to pet and scratch her the retching miraculously stops .
