Hi, I am a newbie on here and hope to participate in the forums if I can make a valid contribution!! My husband and I are working on an e-book concept for the corporate world, an educational tool, and we know less than nothing of the tools we need, the entire process... I write short stories, and working on a noval that I mught publish in e-book format when I can stop tweaking it, and I am my husband's proof reader and grammar check.
We're using Dragon dictation for the writing process and it needs careful proof reading as it sometimes throws a spanner in a sentence!!
we think we're right in wanting to go down the e-book route rather than go through an agent and hard back books...for one thing we're not certain an editor would 'get' the subject matter, it is very specialised, and we want to be able to bring the book up to date as global issues affect the information. For those who needs it, we're sure it is going to be an invaluable tool. My husband has for the past 5 years lectured very successfully on the subject matter but it is for an institution and it is they who make all the money, so we are going it alone now!!!
