It's their work so I don't necessarily have a problem with them doing what they want with it per se (doesn't mean I'll want to buy it). What I do have a problem with is when they don't bother to tell folks they're doing it so people buy thinking they're getting one thing, but end up getting another.

However if they do choose to edit/add I'm not often if ever interested because I feel like I must be missing something of the original. It's generally different for me when it's a self-pubbed book which gets picked up by a publisher and it goes through an editing process (assuming it didn't when self-pubbed). Another thing I'm not fond of is when the "update" their story to make it feel more modern (add cell phones, kindles, etc).

One solution would be to put out two editions. They already have the original written so go ahead and put that out and then if you want to put out a second edition or special edition with whatever adds/subtracts/updating they want.
