I've just discovered the
Unofficial Football World Championships. Works like boxing: The team who beats the champion is the next champion. Current champion is Costa Rica, who won the title with their victory over Uruguay and defended it against Italy. So the next unofficial world champion could actually be England, if they win their next match against Costa Rica. Makes me wonder if being kicked out of the tournament wasn't a clever ploy by England - should they win the title against Costa Rica, it will be a while till they have to defend it; had they stayed in the World Cup, they would have had to defend their world championship only days after winning it.
