Top Secret Twenty-One by Janet Evanovich (4.5 Stars) I loved it! Let me say the Stephanie in this installment was different from previous Stephanie. She seemed OMG can't believe I am going to say this...competent and her friends was the one who needed help and acted stupid. She didn't do her usually routine. There is lots of Ranger time in this one. I felt this was more Suspense novel than a Cozy. Not much romance in this one BUT Spoiler:
Ranger does makes some very profound statements about his feelings and Stephanie
mentions she doesn't think Joe is faithful to her which I suspected all along. We all know she hasn't been faithful to Joe in the past but she really tried in this one to be a good girl and just focus on the mission and saving her friends. It seems she to realized Joe and her would not work out married this really happened in 20 and I was excited to see she stay with it in 21. Maybe cause they were written so close together.  I know JE was force to immediately write 21 after 20 and I wasn't expecting such a good book seeing she had to pretty much write it in a few months to meet the new June release date. I'm trying not to get too excited about 22 as I know JE could easily revert her back to slapstick Stephanie and back to playing yo-yo with two men but 21 was nice change of pace for the series. 
I also bought 3 books this week thanks to a very sweet and generous person here who told me Go buy a book and sent me a gift card. I don't know who you are but  You made my week.

Glad to hear Top Secret 21 is looking good! Stephanie being competant?? Whaaaaaaaaaaat???
And YAY I love Ranger. Waiting on the library. Hurry up and read it, people, so I can....lol.
