I can see Adobe having to make a new server to serve both the old and new DRM based on what's used to download the ePub. U expect the outcry will be massive when people download ADE 3 and find that the ePub won't work on their Reader or app because they used ADE 3 to download and they just lost the money they paid since they can no longer read as they want.

This is so going to backfire on Adobe. Think of all the legacy devices that exist now that most likely won't ever be updated. They work fine and there's no reason to abandon them just because Adobe wants to change the DRM. I can't see the publishers wanting to piss off their customers.
