They already have a rather large customer base who've proven they don't give a damn about the iOS or Google ecosystems when it comes to tablets. And as for the $650 price tag?? Well ... anybody who's focused on the price of the hardware without a contract isn't in their target demographic either. I actually don't think that person is in ANY of the smart-phone makers' demographics. They just throw a big number out there for the smallish group of people who like to think that buying without a contract imparts some sort of badge of honor. Some will pay it. Those who don't won't be missed on earnings reports. *shrugs*

Well, we will see how well it does. I don't think this phone is going to be a world-changer. If someone is an Amazon customer and doesn't already have a smartphone, this might very well entice them. But for people who already have a smartphone, will this entice them to switch? I'm skeptical.
