The Paperwhite 1 is slow (in comparison to the 2nd release). And if you have e-books with pictures (e.g. IT books) your 1,000 e-books will be more like 40. Saving your e-books in the cloud is in the 'Post-Snowden-Era' not a good idea anyway.
