Of course. But it isn't that cut and dried because in the real world, there are librarians who won't order self-published titles (mine is one such library.)

Other libraries that I've approached are happy to accept the donation and carry the titles. But I have had at least two libraries turn down donations--they do not want to shelve them. They will accept the donations, but if asked specifically, they will admit they are going to give them to Friends of the Library to sell for 25 to 50 cents to raise funds for other books/plans at the library. They do this all the time for MANY donations, whether self-pub'd or not.

And believe me, I know their funds are limited. I don't expect to be treated like a special snowflake and I understand most of the reasoning behind the various policies in place. Which is why I'll be curious to see if libraries are attracted by the lower prices and start carrying at least some of the indie books available.
