Richard Russo
Just a couple months ago I read Empire Falls by Richard Russo. Great read. And it's always nice to discover an author who has been around for a while because then you've got a catalog of work to read! So I just picked up Straight Man, which is about 15 years old. I'm about half way through and it's another great read. Having his way with the world of academia and doing it brilliantly.
