I don't often bother with Swagbucks surveys, I almost always get disqualified after entering an overwhelming amount of data. I search, do the Encrave activities, the video special offers on Radium One, and use the Mobile TV app on my iPad and Entertain Now app on my Nexus 7 to get my daily swagbucks minimum. I generally get enough Swagbucks monthly to get the 5 $5 Amazon gift certificates and enough to get about half of a $50 Paypal gift certificate.
I wouldn't bother with any of it if I wasn't standing in front of my iMac for several hours per day anyhow.
