Hubby just got in dripping in sweat. He asked if was going to rain. I told him I hope not they say that makes it like a Sauna out there. Sure he grew up here but it's been years and I think kids tolerate heat better than us older folks.
The only rain we'll be getting for a while will be pop up thunderstorms - that don't cool us down, just generate flash flood warnings. Real rain only happens when a 'cool' front from the Midwest is strong enough to push into/displace our stationary hot air mass, or rarely a strong cold front will drop out of Canada (along with straight line winds). So get used to it ....

And yes, kids tolerate it much better than adults ...[insert whine here]
