but yeah, I know how bad it can be. I start getting really light headed and as referred to, actually fell off of a telephone pole. not good. I remember going up, I remember working, I just don't remember about the 15 or so minutes before the fall. and fortunately I don't remember much until in the ambulance. I'd had another bad fall years earlier, but this was pretty nasty. lots of splinters and a once again broken tail bone that actually finally broke the bottom of it off so to this day it is hanging free

Agree about the tepid water ... ice water can throw you into shock or cause heart irregularities.
Last summer was the first time I was seriously affected by heat stroke issues - I learned that when my face begins to burn (feels like I'm getting sunburned) to stop immediately, go inside, pull off my shoes and socks, sit in front of the floor fan, and sip room temperature water. The one (and ONLY) time I ignored this symptom I became disoriented, passed out on the kitchen floor, and was sick for almost a week afterwards.
So, yes, acclimate yourself gradually and treat this level of heat as potentially deadly. Mornings (before 10 am) are the safe times for outdoor activities.
