Yes, I understand the satire.

That being said, Prop 65 completely bypassed the politicians, it was a ballot referendum, where they gathered 100s of thousands of signatures to get it onto the ballot, and then got just less than 2/3rds of the votes to pass it.

Then again, this just proves that Californians will sign anything...
