My (very) basic research skills show, that a 9.7 e-ink display can be bought at
USD 45 (about 33 Euro). To me this does not seem to be overly expensive.
Surely touch and so on need to be added, but these are non specific things that should be available on the market.
At the current state keeping the software developers employed after launch seems to be an awesome idea.
And yet I do agree that it is really hard for a small company to get started and compete with these giants... but if I think about it ... there is no competition in the big ereader business?
